María Fernanda González is a notary public and works mainly in the Real Estate Department and also in the Banking and Corporate Department.

She has extensive experience in real estate and agribusiness transactions. With over 10 years of experience in the forestry sector, she has a key role within the teams that advice clients in the structuring and financing  of their investments, the development of the forests  and in negotiations and drafting of forestry lease agreements, wood purchase agreements and collaterals  In the urban area, she has assisted  real estate projects developers, in all stages of their projects: structuring (including the creation of trusts), sale and lease of apartments  for housing.

María Fernanda is a member of the Association of Notaries of Uruguay (Asociación de Escribanos del Uruguay), and has been recognized by the international publications “Legal 500 Latin America” and “Chambers Latin America” for her experience in her area of practice.

Work Highlights

  • Advises Montes del Plata in their daily to day business  and in the negotiations and drafting of forestry lease agreements, wood purchase agreements and in the collaterals of said agreements, reviewing title deeds and all other forestry developments for provisions for  the pulp mill opened in December 2014 with an investment of nearly USD 200, 000 million. She supervises a team of six notaries that advise this client.

  • Advised Valareña in the negotiation and execution of sales of apartments of the well-known development called “OAK Park”, located in the up market neighbourhood of Carrasco.

  • Advised Fideicomiso Financiero Montes del Este setting up a REIT, including advice on all regulatory aspects, the negotiation and closing of the acquisition of approximately 10,000 hectares of rural real estate and support in the request for authorisation before the Executive Branch to own said rural land.
